About Alfred Hermida

Alfred Hermida is a professor of journalism at the University of British Columbia, an award-winning author and former BBC journalist.

He co-founded The Conversation Canada and is a Fellow of the International Communication Association.

His research examines digital journalism, media change and innovation, focusing on how institutions, professional cultures, technologies and publics shape journalism and the conditions for meaningful change.
